BENS 3rd, at School Games Athletics Championship
St Benedict's College finished 3rd, at the All Island School Games Athletics Championship 2015 which concluded at Diyagama yesterday. (12th Oct 2015)

Maris Stella College Negombo sealed the boys overall championship with 163 points, while A. Rathanayake Central College Walala (96) and St. Benedict’s College Kotahena (72) finished second and third respectively.

Benedictine, Sahan Rajapaksa beat Gateway’s Asiri Wijesekara in the much awaited boys Under-17, 100m final.
In the relay events, St. Benedict’s College established a new record in the Under-17, 4x400m relay clocking 3 minutes 21.35 seconds and also emerged runners-up in the boys’ relay overall championship.

The College won 5 GOLDS, 2 SILVERS and 1 BRONZE Also creating 2 Championship records in the process.

Under 17 100 meters SAHAN RAJAPAKSHA
Under 17 4 x 100 meters RELAY ( NEW RECORD) Under 17 100 meters hurdles AVISHKA DHANANJAYA Under 17 4 x 400 meters NEW RECORD BEATING OLD RECORD BY OVER 7 secs.

Under 17 400 meters SUPUN NIMASHA
Under 15 100 meters SHALIKA SANTHOSH

Under 21 4x 100 meters RELAY

President Maithripala Sirisena was the chief guest on the final day where the last few events were televised on National TV and it was a proud moment to see the St. Benedict's under 17 Relay team crown themselves with glory with lead of close to 70 -80 meters and clipping over 7 secs from the previous record.
