The Inter School Tennis Competition 2017
The first and second round of the under 8 Inter School Tennis Competition were held in September and October respectively at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts. It was after a spell of nearly 25 years that a junior team from St. Benedict’s College took part in such a competition.

Prior to the tournament, the Benedictines went through a rigorous training programme for nearly six months as part of their preparation for the competition.

Master Marron Roshan captained the team and Master Shenal Shalendra deputised.
The results were as follows.

Beat Ananda College, Maradana (3/2), Trinity College, Kandy (4/1), Zahira College, Maradana (5/0), Kalutara Vidyalaya (4/1) and lost to St. Joseph’s College, Maradana (2/3) and Maliyadewa College, Kurunegala (1/4).

With the above performance, St. Benedict’s College qualified to play in the third round of the competition.
