Bens into Pre-Quarters beating Moratuwa MV
SportSt Benedictís College led by all-rounder Jason Perera qualified to play in the second round of the under 19 schools limited over cricket tournament following a very successful season this year.

In their second round knockout tournament match played today (13th March) at Moratuwa, St. Benedictís College thrashed Moratuwa MV handsomely by a huge margin of 185 runs and qualified to the pre-quarter finals of the tournament.

Batting first, Bens scored 234 for 7 with Arjuna Perera and Sameera Sandamal cracking half centuries. Moratuwa MV in reply, succumbed to the opening pace attack of Sachin Peries and Jason Perera who claimed 5 wickets each as they were bowled out for a mere 49 runs.

St. Benedictís also has qualified to play in the schools T20 tournament this year.

SBC: 234 for 7 in 50 overs (Arjuna Perera 86 (7 x 4s), Sameera Sandamal 94 not out (3 x 6s & 7 x 4s)

MMV: 49 All-out in 17 overs (Sachin Peries 5 for 22, Jason Perera 5 for 13)
